A masterclass provides knowledge, insight and inspiration. Over one or more days or sessions, a guest expert immerses participants in the world of public affairs, bringing theory and practice together. The result is a deeper understanding of the issues, insight into the latest developments and exposure to best practices.

A workshop focuses on a specific topic and is designed to develop practical skills. Whether you want to improve your ability to read the Dutch national budget, create a stakeholder analysis or engage in lobbying at regional level, you will learn the skills you need at the Public Affairs Academie.

We also organise webinars that you can attend online. They offer a convenient way to quickly update your knowledge on current topics.

Activities

Our Executive Courses are in-depth, multi-day learning programmes in which participants develop their knowledge, skills and network around a specific theme within public affairs, advocacy and policy influence.

In collaboration with leading knowledge institutes, universities, academics, experienced practitioners and (former) public officials, the Public Affairs Academie offers a unique combination of academic insight and practical application.

The duration of a course varies depending on the programme and the level of depth. An Executive Course typically consists of 4 to 8 training days spread over a period of 2 to 6 months. This allows participants to combine the programme with their daily work while applying their newly acquired knowledge directly in practice.

Activities

Sometimes an open programme does not fully meet the needs of a team. In that case, the Public Affairs Academie can provide in-company training, fully tailored to the needs, level and practical context of the organisation. Customisation and flexibility are at the heart of our approach.

With practical, directly applicable knowledge and skills, our training programmes help professionals become more effective in their field. Participants work with their own real-life cases and translate insights into their day-to-day practice. Together, we identify their needs, define learning objectives and create a tailored programme. Nacht van de Lobbyist

Our flagship event is the annual Nacht van de Lobbyist. It brings together public affairs professionals, communication specialists, policy advisers, journalists, students, academics and other interested participants around a current theme within public affairs. At an inspiring venue, we offer a plenary programme with a keynote speaker, a range of breakout sessions and plenty of opportunities for networking and exchange.
